    About Jaeger-LeCoultre

    Jaeger-LeCoultre history in brief

    Founded
    1833
    Headquarters
    Le Sentier, Switzerland

Antoine LeCoultre opened a workshop in the Vallée de Joux in 1833 and the company has since developed more than 1,200 calibres, earning its reputation as 'the watchmaker's watchmaker' — it supplied movements to Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet and Vacheron Constantin. In 1931 it created the Reverso, whose case flips over to protect the crystal during polo matches. Jaeger-LeCoultre is now part of Richemont and remains highly vertically integrated.
