    About Breitling

Breitling has equipped explorers and aviators since 1884. Known for bold chronographs and the Navitimer's iconic slide rule bezel, Breitling combines tool-watch functionality with distinctive style. The Superocean Heritage line has become one of the most popular retro divers on the market.

    Breitling history in brief

    Founded
    1884
    Headquarters
    Grenchen, Switzerland

Léon Breitling founded the company in Saint-Imier in 1884, and the brand pioneered the separate chronograph pusher in 1915 and the two-pusher layout in 1934. The 1952 Navitimer added a slide-rule bezel for pilots' calculations and became the signature aviation chronograph. Since 2017, under CEO Georges Kern, Breitling has refocused on vintage-inspired designs and smaller sizes.

    Signature Breitling models

    • Navitimer — The slide-rule pilot's chronograph in continuous production since 1952.
    • Superocean Heritage — A retro diver inspired by the 1957 original.
    • Chronomat — The 1984 chronograph with its distinctive 'rouleaux' bracelet.
