Citizen began as the Shokosha Watch Research Institute in 1918 and produced its first pocket watch in 1924, named 'Citizen' by Tokyo's mayor. In 1976 it launched the world's first analogue light-powered watch, which led to today's Eco-Drive technology, powered by any light source. Signature Citizen models
